New Belgium's new building

New Belgium Brewing Company has embarked on a $20 million expansion that will more than double its bottling capacity.
On June 7 the Fort Collins brewery broke ground on a 55,000-square-foot building that will house a new KHS bottling line with a capacity of 700 bottles per minute, according to New Belgium spokesman Bryan Simpson. The current bottling line has a capacity of 300 bottles per minute.

Rock Bottom going public?

Louisville-based Rock Bottom Restaurants has hired investment bank Piper Jaffray to help explore options including an initial public offering of stock and raising private equity, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Boulder Beer Company has invited all of us to its revival - the 3rd Annual Goatshed Revival - in August. While helping quench our thirst, the brewery plans to raise funds during the event to give to the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity. A singing twelver from Oskar Blues

The folks at Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons have come up with a way for us to open up a 12-pack and enjoy it on the way home without breaking any laws.
The nation’s first microcanning craft brewery released the seventh of its Singing 12-pack series on May 18. The 12-packs contain a 12-song, limited-release compilation CD, which features new songs from 10 Colorado bands and two national bands.

Flying Dog review from Alaska

The Anchorage Press weekly newspaper in Alaska reviewed Flying Dog's litter of brews.
Here's a snippet: "I certainly love the labels and the names. Tire Bite Golden Ale, Doggie Style Pale Ale, Old Scratch Amber Lager, Snake Dog IPA, Horn Dog Barley Wine and the infamous Road Dog Porter have all humped my leg for affection. There's a flavor that runs through them all that I just can't wrap my chops around, but I respect their attitude and tenacity. I have tried every one more than once and I especially pant when something new shows up in town."

Falling Rock named one of the nation's best

The Falling Rock Tap House was named one of the top 50 places in America to have a beer by BeerAdvocate.com.
Falling Rock came in at No. 35 on the list and was the only Colorado pub to make the cut.

Mark your calendars for the SOBO Summerfest, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 3.
The festival, which will take place at the Table Mesa Shopping Center, at Broadway and Table Mesa, is free and will feature activities, discounted services, food, drink, and live music.

Flying Dog has pups (and bats)

Flying Dog Ownership Group of Denver bought the Frederick Brewing Co., in Frederick Maryland, for $1.4 million, according to the Frederick News-Post. Flying Dog will change the plant's name to Wild Goose Brewery LLC, Flying Dog President Eric Warner said.
