BREWERS GUILD TO HOST 3rd ANNUAL FIRKIN RENDEZVOUS

The Colorado Brewers Guild will host the third annual Firkin Rendezvous on February 24 at Bristol Brewing Company in Colorado Springs. The event will allow beer lovers to sample traditional and not-so-traditional English-style cask ales dispensed by gravity or hand pump from firkin casks. All of the beers will be brewed and served by brewery members of the Colorado Brewers Guild, including Colorado Springs breweries Bristol and Phantom Canyon.

Cask conditioning of ales is a traditional British style of brewing that originated centuries ago, when publicans lived above their pubs and made a life's work out of tending their beers. Cask ales are fermented, dry-hopped, conditioned and served in a single cask, the “firkin” being the British cask size most commonly used. “The variety and quality of beers at last year’s Rendezvous was spectacular, and we’re looking forward to another round of interesting and delicious beers” said John Carlson, Executive Director of the Colorado Brewers Guild.

The event will take place on Saturday, February 24 at Bristol Brewing, 1647 S. Tejon, from 1 to 5pm. Tickets are $25 in advance/$30 at the door and will include beer, food, and a souvenir tasting glass. Proceeds will benefit the Colorado Brewers Guild. Participants must be 21 or older with valid ID. Advance tickets are available at Bristol.

The Colorado Brewers Guild is an organization of 44 independent Colorado breweries whose mission is to promote the enjoyment of fresh beers brewed locally in communities across the state of Colorado.
