So Flying Dog Brewery needs help naming it's next Belgian White.

"Winner will receive a trip for two to the 2007 Great American Beer Festival where you can party with the Flying Dog crew. Trust us, you want to party with us because we are fun shit," according to their e-newsletter.

In celebration of the 600th batch of beer brewed at Southern Sun the brewers have conjured yet another feat of hoppiness.
The “I and IPA� (batch 600) will be debuting its hoppy girth Aug. 11.
“I and IPA� is s brand new Imperial IPA. Fresh lemongrass was used to compliment the citrus notes of a new hop variety called Summit. Summits are a high alpha (bitter) hop that contributes a serious grapefruit nuance to this beer. Sixt pounds of orange blossom honey was included for increased alcohol and more citrus. Weighing in at 9% ABV, this beer is only served in half pints at the pub.

Flying Dog’s Dogtoberfest hit the shelves nationwide Aug. 18 so pony up the $7 and get to celebrating. This seasonal tribute, along with toasting one of the most ingenious traditions of our time, took home Great American Beer Festival bronze in 2005. This classic German Oktoberfest Lager will have you prancing around in your lederhosen in no time.

Louisville-based Rock Bottom Restaurants has hired investment bank Piper Jaffray to help explore options including an initial public offering of stock and raising private equity, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

The Anchorage Press weekly newspaper in Alaska reviewed Flying Dog's litter of brews.
Here's a snippet: "I certainly love the labels and the names. Tire Bite Golden Ale, Doggie Style Pale Ale, Old Scratch Amber Lager, Snake Dog IPA, Horn Dog Barley Wine and the infamous Road Dog Porter have all humped my leg for affection. There's a flavor that runs through them all that I just can't wrap my chops around, but I respect their attitude and tenacity. I have tried every one more than once and I especially pant when something new shows up in town."

The Falling Rock Tap House was named one of the top 50 places in America to have a beer by BeerAdvocate.com.
Falling Rock came in at No. 35 on the list and was the only Colorado pub to make the cut.

Mark your calendars for the SOBO Summerfest, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 3.
The festival, which will take place at the Table Mesa Shopping Center, at Broadway and Table Mesa, is free and will feature activities, discounted services, food, drink, and live music.
