Guinness is hosting one of its Guinness Believer events at the Boulder Theatre, 2034 14th St, on four upcoming Thursday nights. Visit http://www.believerrsvp.com and use the password "Believer" to get in. You'll have to listen to someone from Guinness talk, but you'll get free beer. According to this article in the Denver Business Journal, Oskar Blues Brewery is now able to sell its beer in North Carolina. A state law, which prohibited selling any beer over 6% alcohol was changed last year, opening the door for Dales' Pale ale (6.5%) and Old Chub (8%) to be sold in the Tarheel State. This week's Westword cover story is about Blake Harrison and his quest to let us buy beer on Sunday. He tried unsuccessfully in 2002, but this time around he's planning on getting support from the big-box grocery stores. The microbrewers are against it because they say letting grocery stores sell more than 3.2 beer will cause the neighborhood liquor stores to go out of business. Heaven on Earth in Norway

A new study is good news to us here at Colorado Beer News. Lipton Tea commissioned a beverage study that says that men can drink up to 24 ounces of beer, or 3 ounces of hard liquor a day. |
