Mark your calendars for the SOBO Summerfest, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 3.
The festival, which will take place at the Table Mesa Shopping Center, at Broadway and Table Mesa, is free and will feature activities, discounted services, food, drink, and live music.
And of course, there’s going to beer, in fact there’s going to be 4 tons of beer supplied by Boulder Beer and The Mountain and Southern Sun. A Beer Garden will be off to the side of the event.
All proceeds from SOBO Summerfest benefit the Boulder County AIDS Project and the Boulder-Cuba Sister City Organization.
The 2005 first-annual summer festival in South Boulder was hosted by the Boulder-Cuba Sister City Organization and drew more than 4,000 people over the course of the day. Boulder businesses and organizations contributed nearly $20,000 to the festival. This year, our goal is to raise $40,000 for the event and the non-profits associated.
There will be six bands and multiple tweener acts. Expect a diverse music line-up that pays tribute to the Latin culture’s tradition of community street festivals and celebrates Boulder’s local music scene.

Using the rich musical landscape of Boulder, CO as their muse, the Motet continues to reinvent their sound while staying true to their various roots. Founded in 1998 by drummer Dave Watts, the Motet has become one of the best improvisational bands touring today, fusing elements of Afrobeat, Afro-Cuban, funk, latin, and jazz.
