So many people have been Googeling the SOBO Summer Fest entries on the site that I had to check it out. The SOBO Stamp: It speaks for itself.
If parking was any indication, I would venture to guess that this festival attracted more than just the South Boulder Community. We arrived late in the day at about 5:30 and the closest we could park was about 4 blocks away. It was nutty.
For me the Beer was the highlight of the day. People seemed to be having a great time dancing and listening to the music. The beer wasn't overpriced like most festivals, I paid $3 for a Southern/Mountain Sun SummerFest.
The "beer garden" was enclosed by a six-foot-high chainlink fence that made everyone in it look like they were in jail. In fact we heard that joke quite often.
There was lots of food, lots of stuff for the kids and of course music and beer.
Boulder Beer had a tent and was giving away free posters (I picked up posters for my favorite Boulder Beers - Mojo IPA and Hazed and Infused), stickers (which will have a home of honor on one of my carboys) and keychain beer openers.
All in all it was pretty nice little festival. I hope that they made a bunch of money for the Boulder County AIDS Project and the Boulder Sister City Organization.
