Mountain Sun

I love the Suns!

My honey surprised me last week with a trip to Boulder for a few B-day beers. We decided to go to Southern Sun.

If I could afford to live in Boulder, I'd move right next door to Southern Sun. I love everything about this brewpub (and it's sibling Mountain Sun, as well).

The Suns are Boulder. They tap special kegs at 4:20, they have a beer called Colorado Kind Ale, and the sell tie-dyed T-shirts. Now if I have to explain either of those references to you, you haven't ever lived in Boulder or any other mountain hippie town for that matter.

It's Stout Month @ Mountain Sun

If you like Stout, you should plan on spending the nest four weeks at Mountain Sun in Boulder.

February marks the 14th annual Stout month. Throughout the month, 10 of Mountain Sun taps will run black with a rotating selection of 19 different stouts, including 8 house beers, 2 homebrew contest winning beers, and 9 guest stouts.

The house beers include:

  • Thunderhead Stout (Robust American Stout)
  • Korova Cream Stout (Rich & Roasty Milk Stout)
  • Belgian Dip Stout (Decadent Chocolate Stout)
  • Cherry Dip Stout (Sweet Cherry Belgian Dip)
  • Old School Irish Stout (Dry Irish Stout)
  • Coconut Cream Stout (Silky Milk Stout w/ Toasted Coconut)*
  • Stoked Oak Stout (Smokey Oak/Vanilla Bourbon Stout)*
  • Yonder Mountain Stout (Robust Stout w/ British Pale Malt)
  • Trickster Stout (Hoppy American Stout)
  • Usurper Imperial Stout (Russian Imperial Stout)
