Skinny-dipping funny guy

Submitted by Justinian on March 30, 2006 - 5:50pm.

So I've been stopping at this liqour store on my home from work lately cause they've got a pretty good selection of Colorado beers and it's on my way home. Today I wanted a beer that I didn't have to think about. So I picked up a sixer of New Belgium's Skinny Dip. It's labeled as a summer seasonal, so I figured it was probably light. It is light, apparently in more than one way. The bottle description states that the beer is "a full-bodied, figure friendly beer designed for the summer dress code."

Not sure if you'd heard, but there's good news for those who pour beer and other refreshing drinks to cool off the masses. It's also good news for those who enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities.

Backcountry Brewery

Spent a long weekend in Breckenridge snowshoeing, hot tubbing and sampling a few beers. Stopped in the Backcountry brewery in Frisco because i'd heard their IPA was the stuff. Damn good. Smooth yet hoppy. Must admit that my wife was reminded of an age-old lesson. When in Rome, don't order the hot dogs. She decided that a margarita sounded better than a beer on Saturday afternoon. Well, the Backcountry margarita was crappy and of course my IPA was delightful like the next morning's powder. Also picked up a few porters, pales and a wheat - more on those later.

Baths, Basins and Beer

So my wife and I have spent the last 6 weeks remodeling our house. We ripped out the entire kitchen, floor, cabinets, counters, sink, dishwasher, you name it, and replaced it. We did the same in the bathroom. Needless to say, when you're doing all that you're gonna have to stop and have a beer every once in a while.

Sipping at the Cat

Visited the Cheshire Cat March 10 to test the Puma IPA - fair, kind of tame. Doesn't quite match up to the Golden City IPA that The Cat has on tap from time to time.
Tried a Fat Cat, which had a good flavor.
