I've been out of town on a business trip for the last week. So I didn't have a Colorado brew all week! I'm having withdrawal! Anyway, I did have a Youngs Double Chocolote Stout and a Samuel Smiths Organic Ale, both of which I picked up in Trader Joes. I also picked up a bottle of Trader Joes blended Scotch Whisky for $9.99. I haven't tried it but I'll let you know if it's any good. You can't go wrong at Pints Pub

The Cheshire Cat Brewpub will host the 6th annual Burns Supper, in honor of the birthday of the great bard, Robert Burns. The supper will be held on January 20th, at 7 p.m. This dinner is a traditional Scottish event, with the clans gathering at the bar around 6:30. The group retires to the upstairs dining room at 7 for the Address and Toast to the Haggis. A Piper accompanies the haggis up the stairs and to the waiting sword. Following a meal of cock-a-leekie, haggis wi’ chapit tatties, mashed neeps and peas, beef and mushroom pie and sticky toffee puddin’, the many traditional toasts are made. I remember a buddy of mine telling me how he used to sit in the balcony of the Oriental Theater at 44th and Tennyson and smoke pot. Wasn't it also a church at one time? Anyway, it looks like they're back in the entertainment biz. |
