Washington's Sunday liquor sales experiment a success

Check out this report over at ProBrewer.com . Apparently the state of Washington conducted an experiment that allowed a portion of its state-run and all of it's private contract liquor stores to sell booze on Sunday. The result? They made more money.

The state was expecting to make $9.6 million off of the experiment which runs until the end of June, but it now thinks that it will make $18.5 million.

So, note to lazy Colorado liquor store owners - You will make more money. People want to buy booze on Sunday.

And note to the state Legislature - The State will make more money. People want to buy booze on Sunday.

I really don't understand why we have these antiquated laws on the books. Why can't I buy a car on Sunday either?

I know I've said this before, but I wish the state would change the law and allow liquor sales on Sunday. If a liquor store doesn't want to be open, fine, don't open on Sunday. It's as simple as that.
