Collaboration not Litigation Ale

You know, sometimes breweries do some pretty cool stuff. Check out Avery Brewing Co's Collaboration not Litigation Ale. The short version is that Avery and Russian River Brewing both have a Belgium beer called Salvation Ale. Instead of one of the breweries relinguishing the rights, they decided to mix the beers.

So Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River flew out to Avery and brewed a batch of his Salvation back in November. In December they mixed the two beers and the result is Collaboration not Litigation ale.

It's available in Bombers. I once tasted a wine that was blended with a bunch of different wines. Each time I swirled the glass I could taste/smell something different. I wonder if you got a hold of both types of Salvation and tasted them, you could detect either one in the blend?

So here's the cool part. The brewers are using the profits from Collaboration to fund a return education trip to Belgium with Tomme (Port Brewing), Sam (Dogfish Head Brewing) and Rob (Allagash Brewing). That sounds like an awesome trip. If you've got an extra seat and need someone to document the trip, give me a ring Wink.
