The Labor Day weekend signals the end of summer, but I can't tell because the brewfests just keep on coming.

Here is some of the beer festivals I know of for this month.

On Friday night, September 7th, The Denver Zoo hosts Brew at the Zoo. You can sample brews from more than 30 of Colorado’s finest breweries, wine and alternative beverage producers, along with music and dancing, and great food provided by local restaurants. It's a fundraiser, so it's expensive. Tickets for Denver Zoo members are $40 in advance and $50 at the door and for non-members are $50 in advance and $60 at the door and can be purchased online at http://www.denverzoo.org/ or by calling (303) 376-4860.

Sunday, September 9th, it's the Fall Festival of Beer and Chili Cook-off. Gunnison, Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte are putting on a new food/brew/wine fest called Coloradofest and, besides the beer/chili event, you can check out some hands on cooking classes using only Colorado products. If you are into wine, there will be a winemaker dinner and wine tastings. There are two farmers' markets scheduled. Local restaurants will put on fixed-price dinner menus of "Colorado only" products. There are also hands-on pottery classes scheduled, free music and lots of other stuff. http://www.coloradofest.com/

Sept. 14-16th, Colorado beer lovers will be in Telluride for Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. This is an incredible event with tremendous music and, of course, great brews from 50 different breweries from around the country. http://www.tellurideblues.com/

And, on Sept. 22, look for local mug luggers at the Steamboat Brewers’ Festival where 30 different breweries will be pouring from Noon to 4 p.m. $30 will get you in and you will get six 5-oz. tasting tokens, too. http://steamboatbrewersfestival.com/

Don't forget the little gathering in October. The Great American Beer Festival is one of the biggest and best beer festivals in the world...and, it's right here in our own backyard.
